anything above 2.6 requires more voltage, im at 3.01 with my vcore at 1.38, I was able to get away with 2.6 on auto but no higher than that without adding voltage. Try setting your vcore to 1.38 your fsb to 333 your multi to 9, your ram to 667 or 800 whichever you prefer, and your pci express to 100mhz and you should be golden, give it a shot.

worked first time thanks for your help it is a 2998.7 Mhz lol so clsoe to 3.0Ghz



how do i stop it from changing from 2.0Ghz to 3.0 Ghz on cpu i remember some people said it was something in the bois about speed but i forgot what it is called?

It could be called a few things. speedstep, C1E or something like that. Disable those things in the BIOS.

Edit: you should be reading your temps with Real Temp instead.

you can disable it but I prefer to keep it on because when the computer is sitting idle it wont use as much power and it will let the cpu cool down a little bit. Realtemp is a good program, I like the gamer mode its pretty sweet, the only thing I dont like about it, same for coretemp, is that there isnt a cpu temp in it. Speedfan is the only one that I know of so far that gives Cpu temp.

thanks a lot disabling speedstep worked and so did the overclocking and so did reinstalling windows (got better fps in games) so every bit of advice worked wooooo i don't have a faulty mobo
