Have you read the voltage from the bios yet? does it match either of the programs you are using? Another option I like to use that is nice and lightweight is HWMonitor from the guys that do CPU-Z. I use that. IIRC CPU-Z works fine on my 790i also. You can try a newer version, CPU-Z 1.46 came out june 8th.
