Intel Chipset PM965 vs GM965

Thread Starter
Hi folks,

My first post here ... I hope I have it in the right spot ...

I have searched and searched various Forums and Threads and have NOT found a Straight Answer to this Question that I have.

Lot of Laptop builders (Sager, DELL, Toshiba, ... name it ) are supposedly selling you a Laptop with Intel Chipset PM965 and dedicated GPU (nVidia Card) ... and when you get your darn laptop and you run a PC utility and it tells you have a GM965 Chipset .. you go what the heck!

Q1: Is Chipset PM965 "performance" much superior to GM965!?!?
Please put your answer or explanation a "dummy proof" lingo.

Q2: Would returnthe darn laptop for just this one goof on Laptop builder part GM965 instead of PM965!?!?

Thanks a Bunch in advance for any help ...

G!

pm965 doesnt have a graphics driver. i think gm965 is a part of pm965 or something like that.

Hi whe3ls,

Used CPUZ 1.45 and under the Tab that you saiud "Graphic Interface" it PCI-Express and Max. Supported X16 ...

So, I guess that means I am A-OK!?!? Right!!!

Thanks,
