My DS3R does NOT like to sleep.

So a few minutes ago i decided to put my new build to sleep for the first time. When I shook the mouse to wake it, it spazzed out and went into a restart cycle where it wouldn't even POST. Sometimes this happens with an instable overclock but it ends after 3 tries. This time it wouldn't stop. I unplugged it and it still started up and shut down again!!!! (albeit for a split second). When I plugged it back in it kept doing it, so I unplugged it for longer and now it's fine (I had to re-do my overclock). What is wrong and why can't my computer sleep?

I have this exact same problem. I can't put my ds3r to sleep at all. It goes into its restart cycle. To fix it, I hold the button down right before the light comes back on until it turns off completely. Then I have to flip the PSU switch off for about 5 seconds and then it boots. I also have to redo my oc settings. My bios is f3e.

I have the same problem. I have found no cure for it. The only work around I found is changing the sleep mode from S3 to S1 mode. Which sucks because you don't get much power savings in S1 mode.

I have concluded that it is Nvidia graphics drivers that cause the problem. If you put it in sleep mode with no graphic drivers, it works fine.

EDIT: I notice everyone has a DS3R + Vista + Nvidia Graphics = Problem

I never put my computer to sleep. Ever.

It always is finiky, and never seems to work. Also, it clogs up harddrive space (well on my old computer it did, 2GB of a 40GB drive was alot).

ugh....well +rep for all. And i'm not even using Vista yet!! oh and a side note, how do you tell what bios revision you are? Part of me thinks my overclocking problems (1.5125 vcore for a measly 3.2ghz on a q6700) are because of an old BIOS but i have no idea how to check/flash bios.

To find the revision(1.0, 2.0, 2.1), you can look on the box it came in. It should be on a white label on the side.
Edit: I also think it says on one of the corners of the MOBO in white letters. I can't remember where though

Well i mean the bios version, like f5, f7 ect. Doesn't that have a big impact on overclocking?

Oh, bios version. Well there is somewhere in bios where you can view it, and it shows it on the top of the screen in POST. Gigabyte also has a utility called @Bios(I think), that shows your version and can do a live update automatically.

thanks! haha ill have to use @bios becasue my monitor likes to auto-adjust during my POST so by the time it's done my post is gone.

sleep mode bugs out my computer and I get restarts with nvidia driver error messages. Then again the default setting on Vista is for hard drives to sleep after 20 mins and I dont like that setting either.

I just turn it all off.
