How about Server 2008? I havent heard much about it but what I hear is great. Its supposedly a slimmed down Vista kernel. So it has DX10 support with a near XP level of performance.

This link claims Crysis in server 2008 is 5% faster than Crysis in Vista and ram usage is less.

How does the same OS with another SP count as a separate OS? It should just be the most recent...

XP Pro SP2. I did (and technically still do) dual boot between XP and Vista, but as of now, Vista offers nothing to me that XP cannot, so I can't remember the last time I went into Vista... But of course, to each his (or her) own. One thing's for certain in Vista--it does run things much faster--apps install faster, and programs startup faster (no doubt due to superfetch, but who cares why). For me, that's what Vista has over XP. Otherwise, I love how XP works, and is compatible with everything now (well, aside from DX10...).

Some people still prefer the lower service packs, I thought I should cover all the bases and include them.

Edit: Xp 32 bit SP2 has two votes already, some people just like to stick with the older stuff for more compatibility I guess.

i have currently installed:

Linux - x86 ubuntu
xp sp2 x86
vista x86
vista x64

and i'd say x86 xp sp2 would be my favorite,

but vista has things here and there that make me like it, and also not like it.
