Yet Another Build My Rig

Thread Starter
Alright, I want something in the 800 dollar maximum range. Anything below would be great. I already have a case and a 750watt Thermaltake Powersupply.

Heres what I had in mind... feel free to recommend/change any of it. This is my first build so I'm flexible. I just want something to run existing games and the stuff right around the corner like RA3 and whatever else coming out.

4GB G Skill PC1066 memory- $110
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 or a E7200 (if you guys think processing wont be my bottleneck)-- $190 or $130
MS Home Premium 64bit (any disadvantages I need to know about?)-- $99
Seagate 7200.10 250GB (I don't need anything large and I'm cost cutting)--$60
EVGA 750i MoBo (Unless you guys think its crap... but I am considering running SLI cards eventually also thought bout the 780i)-- $190
Lastly... I have no idea what graphics card I should do. It seems like the 8800GT would be my best bet but I don't know.

Oh and what audio card do you guys recommend?

Thanks for the help in advance guys!

I like your suggestions, and I think they would work. But I'd point you towards a Radeon 4850 as your primary gpu ($200), and a x38 motherboard ($225) to go along with it.

Both of these componentes will cost you $425.

So far we have:

Case free
PSU free
4GB 1066 RAM $110
4850 $200
motherboard $225
operating system $99
250GB HD $60

Total so far is $694. For CPU I'd say that e7200 is pretty good if you are going to OC it (I assume you are, as this is OverClock.net )

CPU e7200 $130

Total Cost: $824 with cpu

I didn't make your total, and I hope you already have a monitor or else I'm gonna need to change my suggestions

Ahh crap you need an audio card too, I forgot that =( To suggest an audio card to you, I need to know what you'll be using it for. Whether you want accelerated audio for games, such as EAX and positional audio, or more for music and something you can use ASIO with.

If it were me I would wait until I had a tiny bit more cash to add in the sound card, but if you can't do that I can come up with some changes.
