As a gamer I agree with Omega....however as a CAD designer....graphics cards can and should get better...and in the mainstream as this keeps prices low...

I have two 3870x2s total of 2gb video ram...it's still not enough....

When I open my design of a future consumer product with currently 200+ parts and assemblies the whole thing slows it was worse with only 768mb(8800GTX).

Nothing can stop the continuum...not even the recession/depression we headed for.

Progress sees no frontiers........except time.

You know that you really have 512 Mb beffer available for applications, right? There're 4 512 Mb buffers one per GPU and they all keep the same data to process it on all GPUs, so effectively there's only 512 Mb of VRAM.

News Flash: CrossFire does not double your available video memory. You only have 512MiB available to render with.

If Nvidia keep there prices as they have been and then ADD GDDR5 then I will not be buying from Nvidia..ever lol.

Nvidia problem is they are so greedy.

Lol, tell me what's the purpose of any business? To make people happy? Ye right, It's all about money and will be. If AMD/ATI wasn't in the trouble they are now or recently were (especially AMD) then they wouldn't sell their card that cheap.

Exactly!
I laugh at Nvidia's misfortune.
They spent all this money trying to keep publishers from using
DX10.1

And now that they see their mistake (Blizzard owning them)
They are desperate to go back on what they have been trying to do.

Owned.

Your argument is kinda stupid. That .1 sometimes offers a 30% performance boost... we overclock our hardware to get less than that, and you dismiss it?
