lol all this input is sooo not helping, you are all making really valid points to persuade me to buy either the samsung or the benq.

you're sposed to make my mind up for me!

haha. i think im gonna go the Samsung. its only like $17 more or whatever, and my last Samsung was sweet.

yeah. you wont regret. I just recently bought the 2493hm a couple weeks ago for $400 new, completely satisfied with it 100%. was upgrading from a 17inch Lg, the difference is unbelievable.

I can't vouch for the benq, but i'm sure you'd be satisfied with it as well. from what i collect from the other members, it's also a great pick. though in the end i guess it comes down to personal preference, : )

ok so they hiked the price of the 2493HM now..by $80

so now i gotta decide... Samsung 245B or Samsung 2493HM.

the only real difference is the 2493HM has HDMI support @ 1080p. but will it make any visual difference for gaming? i dont really watch many movies on the comp.

basically, is full HDMI support worth an extra $140??

I can tell you now the Samsung 245B is not a great screen

Its too bright bad viewing angles and the top of the screen is brighter than the bottom.

I wouldnt recommend getting this screen plus it uses a cheap panel.

Nope. People want HMDI so the can easily connect their 360/PS3.

If you do need it go for the G2400W for $399

I know a lot of people give their opinions when they don't have either monitor. I think that's great. I actually have the Samsung, so I'll give you my opinion on it. The picture is great. Like any TN you don't want to get too far off center for best viewing. There is absolutely no lag or ghosting. I play everything at 1920x1200(native rez) with a GX2. I have played COD4, Crysis, Bioshock, Stalker, Assassins creed, Witcher...list goes on. The speakers suck, so I wouldn't consider using them. The touch controls look cool, but are a hassle to operate. I did the same survey as you are doing when I got mine a few months ago and I think you are good either way. I ultimately chose the samsung only because I could get it at Best Buy(local) in case anything was wrong with it out of the box. I also got the extended warranty from them in case a pixel goes and it can get replaced. I don't have the Benq, so I don't know. I assume it's good too?
