Its worth the hassle for $80 though if you went that way, but yes $300 vs $300 is a fair call.

Thanks
Yeah i was thinking GTX280 vs 4870 following someones suggestion that that would be a better performer

GTX280 SLI is better than 4870 CF, but it's obviously not worth the price.
Based on that previous Vantage score it seems GTX280 Tri-SLI is similar to 4870X2 CF.

why don't they have a vantage bench with all of this??

Way to candycoat the 4870. Here is the real comparison:
http://www.computerbase.de/artikel/h...gtx_260_sli/6/

29 pages worth of it, with tons of games tested. Trend being, when the 4870 is better, is is better by a fair margin, and same going for GTX 260. Obviously, the Vantage scores are worthless due to the PhysX on nvidia's part.

$259.99@ zipzoomfly after $40 mail-in rebate

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...dlist=celebros

Keep in mind, one per customer, per household, per MSI product etc. Still a good deal, but more like $40 difference. (unless you have a friend buy one or if they actually enforce the rebate terms)

Since the price drop I think the 260's are good buy now but its stupid imo to get a 260/280 since nvidia said in 6 months they are bringing out the dx10.1 tech. Between the 9800 series altogether and 260/280 price fiasco I think they shot themselves in the foot pretty good.
