My retarded sister is saying that 99.9% of people dont know **** about computer let alone benchmark programs, they have never heard about it is this true?

Personally i use all the Futuremark Benchmark programs,Also i try a few game benchies also,Such as crisis for example to just see how my system my perform.
If anyone is after the serial for any Futurmark Benchmark Apps P.M. me.

Imho, your Sisters words bear some Truth.

The average Person in my reality knows little about the inner-workings of a PC, the performance aspect (and wide-range therein) of PC's , or the tools that are used to gauge a PC's performance.

The term, "Benchmark" generally draws a raised-eyebrow, or a vacuous stare...
