Project 786 D;

post #1 of 6
Thread Starter
So I started folding on Ubuntu last night, I was completeing WU's in less then 2 hours then I get project 786 it's taking over 30 minutes per step, I was just wondering if anyone else has had this project and if it took that long for them ;l This is by far the longest it's took for any WU i've had.

That's the lowest project number I've seen, the lowest I've ever had was 2170, do the Linux clients get lower numbered (older?) projects?

Regular v6 client? Nerd please. Assuming you're running the 'Buntu on x64 and that your folding box is your sig rig, your better off running SMP.

i think you would be best running the vmware thing where you boot into windows for your gpu and have a virtual machine running linux for the smp.

Forgot I made this thread ;x

^ I never mentioned i'm running VMware workstation 6 and Ubuntu 7.4, i'm not using a newer version because I can't d/l one I have a lame 3G USB modem as i'm currently looking for somewhere to live ;l

So yeah, I do run the GPU client aswell as SMP in Ubuntu.. Is there any difference between running it in the player and running it workstation?

I was getting projects 4574-4598 in XP which take at least 2 minutes a step and at most 5 minutes, so I was getting more PDD in XP, Which defeats the purpose of using Ubuntu so something can't be right D; I'm going to let it run a while though and see if I get different WU's...
