Which GPU?

Thread Starter
Im new at computer building and was wondering what would be the best GPU choice for a:
ASUS P5E-VM motherboard.

I will be playing games like HL2 and Portal and watching Blu-Ray DVD's on a 22" TFT monitor.
I have about £120 to spend on one.

Cheers

Well the HD 4850 just came out, which is proving to be extremely fast for about $200 USD so probably £110 or so for you

HD4850. it'll cost about £130, but it's well worth it - it's the 8800GT of this generation - apparently it's about 10% faster than a 9800GTX, so... but don't buy it from Overclockers UK... get it from Scan, eBuyer, or Novatech. I've done business with the latter 2 and i can vouch for both of em...

by the way, welcome to the boards - enjoy your stay, keep it clean, and remember to fill in your PC's specs so we can help you

Right now the 4850 is worth the buy since its very cheap and performs par with the GTX260 of Nvidia.

Go with the 4850. It is fast and it is affordable. I got it and it was the best choice I ever made.
