I'm biting at your heels with this one. MSI 4850. Unable to get past 690 without crashing and not past 1050 on memory. Great cooling as you can see ;}

How has everyone got past the 790mhz boundary on the 4870's?

Can you do it through CCC or do i have to use a different program?

You need to use the CCC panel...the 'Auto' OC function [whatever its called, escapes me ..] Using it, actually changes voltage levels..so you may find, after you use it initially, you may be able to clock a bit higher than that.

Worked great for me..holding 680mhz cores on both 4850's now..1050mhz mem.

yep that's what I did to get those clocks. Used auto tune and it passed. Still won't work for vantage. Whatever I really don't like those two games anyway, no fun.

Bioshock and COD4 work great though so I'm happy.

about to do a vmod. with the arctic cooling t/turbo i should be able to go well beyond 695 core.... i want 750. my current load temp is 50c so i think its possible. i wont bother trying to clock my mem any higher tho. 14510 is the best so far i can get. for some reason vantage will do a complet run, no errors @700core while o6 ****s itself when it gets to the hdr tests....

for you guys with stock cooling on the 4850 i recommend at least doing the fanmod.
i know this is most likely somewhere on the forum of how to do this. but this is a worthwhile easy mod to do.
under ccc, unlock and allow o/cing, create a new profile. call is whatever. then go> appdata (may have to show hidden folders), local, ati, ace, profiles. you will see the profile you created. open with notepad. and edit a few values.
