Uncle jimbo....have you got

a parts list for your TEC controller.

I trained for 2 years as an electrical/electronic engineer about 20 years ago but never followed it up so my electronics is a bit rusty. I mean, as an example, what type of resister do you want for R2. Radio spares have all sorts at different wattages etc I think I just need a common metal film one but I am not sure.
A parts list with a bit more info than your circuit diagram would be really appreciated.

Also I noticed you haven't updated the diagram on xtreme systems for nearly a month and the it did not include the new zener diode between pin 1 of the MIC and ground.

Your help would be much appreciated...your posts are extremely helpful and you have converted my original opinion of TEC's.

The updated version has been up for about 2 weeks - it is on the 'liquid chilling' thread. After testing, I did it a little differently to improve the tracking of the thermistor. Unless there is a note ('5W' or '6A' or something like that) then anything will do. Most part values are not critical and you can use what you have around or can get easily.

Uncle, do you have any pichers of the completed circuit? I think that would be mighty helpful

A picture is worth a thousand words.....but not if your building an electronic circuit.

It probably won't help a great deal as in resisters alone there is a fantastic array of sizes and colors and shapes even amongst those of the same value plus the layout of components would be different dependant on whether you used a breadboard, a specially printed circuitboard or even simple copper strip board...it wouldn't really be that helpful.
