I use an APC ES 725. As, troubled, as our power grids are here in Florida it has seen quite a bit of use and always performs well for me.

Do you get a lot of brownouts or just short drops?

Tons of brownouts - random times, too, when you wouldn't predict too much load on the grid. Between those and the occasional complete (but short, maybe 30 sec) loss of power during afternoon thunderstorms, and you've got the perfect scenario for a UPS. If I hadn't just reinstalled Windows I'd post my log from the APC software, it's pretty crazy.

Exactly, I live in Florida to and the power is always cutting out for almost a split second. my computer stays on thanks to my roswell psu but it still gives a safety net if something goes wrong and it cleans the line so the audio is all gargly.

what made you justify purchasing that? I thought $200 for one was pretty steep. What kind of times do you get with it?

That sucks.... Hopefully I wont need mine too much but when I do I will be happy i have it.

Edit: Im surprised how many people have them. Before I got my new PC, I used to think it was a crazy idea to spend so much on a battery to give your pc just a few minutes of power.
