Airflow on Radiator?

Thread Starter
In my new Velocity build, I will have a 2x120mm rad on the top and a 3x120mm rad on the bottom of the case. I just wanted to know if it is better to put the fans on the grill then the rad as to push the air through the rad or after the rad as to pull air through.

According to testing done by Ira having the fans pull air through the rad is best, by a degree or so.

You always want the coolest air going through the rad.

If the case ambient is 29C and room temp is 25C, you should see a 2-3C difference on your CPU temps by pulling in room temps.
Once again...

I don't think you fully understood my question. What I meant was always taking the air from the room, but having the fans push the air through the rad or having the air being pulled through the rad. Both will be getting air from outside the case.

when it comes from push vs pull.....ira-k did some testing that shows pull is better than push but push & pull with shrouds is king. If you had to choose between the 2 pull is where it's at. What usually goes unsaid is "always use shrouds when you can"

QFT! Not sure if he will have room in that case, especially up top, but man that thing is sexy.

Third, I love that this case is on the other side. Mid tower on my right(currently in use), and Server Tower on left.

QFT: Quoted For Truth?
