Out of curiosity...

How is it that your single GPU costs more than all of the components of your PC, I'd supose that if you can afford a GTX 280, you can have a killer rig.

You would have to reactivate but as long as the mobo is the same you are good to go.

Grats Licht!

True I did spend more on my GPU then I did on the whole computer bundle, but it's going to be one nice part at a time.
I still don't regret getting this PC, it was a great value and anything that was higher/better last year when I got it might still need replacing, so i'm satisfied for now.
A lot changed on my views/attitudes toward computing since then as well.

At least i'm never going stock again xD

You're doing great. Not all of us can afford a high-end rig right away, and you're moving slowly from your e-machines junk to a very nice custom rig.

You have a great GPU, an excellent soundcard, a decent PSU, and a CPU like the E6600 will act as a perfect holdover CPU while waiting for Nehalem.

You're moving in the right direction, and once it's all set and done, you'll have a rig that plenty people will be jealous of.

Let it be known that the only cpu I have EVER killed or damaged, was my pentium d 930 and I think its still in my sig? o.0 So I gain some pessimism against those nuclear reactors. With that aside, can anyone link to a BSEL mod for his e6600. He can't do any clocking on the emachines board, BUT if he BSEL's it he should be able to get a decent overclock on it. That ac freezer is good to 3.2-3.4, so why not?

Yea, lack of Bios is the price I pay for a cheap mobo, but no matter, i'm content with software level for now. I'll giggle like a girl if I can get it at least to 3.1Ghz

Thanks for your continued help everyone! I would have been lost or made a bad choice other wise.

Now only if they made a phase changer with CPU&GPU sockets...(Now THATS something to save for D: )
