I agree that 775 will not go away...even though intel nehalem retails in Q4 of this year...intel will still sell the new 775 cpu lineup....making it even more affordable...

This means that the consumer will actually buy 775 " EVEN MORE, NOT LESS ".

While it may seem like Asus Rampage Extreme is late on the scene for 775...it just where it needs to be....after all it will take until late Q4 early Q1 '09 and they'll have a New Maxi Extreme II with the same Ramage Extreme features but perhaps for the new intel Nehelam chips.

Anyways, I have two Maxi Extreme boards...selling just one I can get $300...adding another $100 is not going to sink my ship........

In fact perhaps it will help to save it....cut down on the downtime and cost of rma'ing boards would be well worth it.

One thing that I hope Asus will begin doing with new designs is to begin protecting the mb with conformal coating so that water spills and more over condensation will not kill boards.

After all they are making and selling mb with water blocks on them why not coat them to protect against this....

One could say how will they ever be able to test boards....listen they still can with probes that penetrate the light coatings.

Also, most of the time they are not able to repair boards anyways~!!!
