Great game, but if you are into these kinds of games, I'd say check out DiRT first.
I was a big DiRT fan untill GRID came out.... now when i load DiRT after playing GRID its just not the same as it used to be... lol

GRID is a great game, well worth going out and buying it

EDIT.. my mate bourght it for his PS3 and after playing it on both PC and PS3 i can say that the PC version looks far better/smoother/faster, i was going to buy a PS3 or upgrade my PC... im glad i picked the later option

in the career mode (GRID world), you start out racing for other teams. You get a certain amount of money for finishing, and a bonus for completing special tasks (Like finish ahead of team X or place in 3rd or higher et cetera). When you first get $80,000, your manager has your car fixed up and you can start racing with it and getting more money and getting sponsors. You also get to customize the looks of your team's cars with 3 colors and designs, plus a number . Later on you get to hire a teammate too.

That game more or less bringed up all the horror from all other race games out there.

Awful steering and throttle management.
Irritating menus
Countdown timers that takes forever between races
Multiplayer sucks donkey(restricted cars)
I give the game a 3 out of 10 in racing
6/10 in Graphics
2/10 in simulation (drift? Oh my god! give me a break)
9/10 for sounds
Overall this game is a 5/10

The game have ... some physics.

Prequel to Carmageddon? cuz that's how this game feels.

Its not a GT game.
Its been called the sweet spot between simulation and arcade, its realistic but has a fun feel to it.

I bought it three hours ago and i am amazed.

I bought it on Steam and I love it. The career mode is great. You have to earn enough money to buy new cars, hire a teammate, and you even end up upgrading your garage as you complete different series of races. I still can't get over the fact that you can buy used cars in a virtual eBay in the game though. lol

Anyway, the multiplayer mode is really fun as well. There's always a bunch of people playing and you can usually just hop right into a game. My big plus for multiplayer mode is that you don't have to pay for playing online.

This game wasn't aimed on being realistic. Please don't rate a game for realism when it was never aimed that high up there to ever be a simulator. They just added real cars to the game and gave it super powers (eg: that steering and throttle that you were talking about).

Drift mode is the most solid drift mode I have ever played out of any type of racing game with the mode. Also playing/drifting online with friends is a lot of fun.

Car restrictions? Think about it. If you put a class A car against a Class D one, what would win? Cars are restricted to keep gameplay fair. Only game that does a good job with class and modifications is Forza 2. Grab a class D car and build it to a B class and it's able to compete fairly. Other then that, a drift car cannot compete in track racing. It's not even in the same class.

I just bought Grid and a Logitech Momo FF racing wheel
Off to install and play now. Hope this game lives up to my expectations. If the demo was any indication, it should be awesome

I think the idea you need a "mode" that uses different physics to drift properly (and it's still bloody crap) sums up the game tbh.
