lol yeah it was a little extreme, but no joke, they are that bad. pretty much all of the laptops which cost 2600 for something which i could have got better for 1400 at the time, all broke within 2 years. luckily the school has finally picked up on it and we're now replacing slowly with hp's. even the teachers were complaining lol.

my butt has 50,000:1 contrast ratio and has a port that accepts HDMI. Its also better looking than this, altho arguably more expensive.

I'm guessing that your school bought out the ones that people had returned because of dead pixels because Acer gave them some crazy good deal on them.

what does your school care if you guys are stuck with dead pixels anyway?

WRONG! Don't listen to this tard.
I have a 20" WS acer, and several of my friends use ACER, and they are very good.
I love mine.

Don't listen to this guy x2

I have two 19" Acer's, an AL1917 and an AL1912 both of which were worth every penny. The AL1917 is the newer of the pair (about 1yr old) and when I compared side-to-side with a Viewsonic there was no distinguishable difference.

I helped my parent's shop for a PC last year and they ended up with an ACER and I've yet to have to need to touch any of the hardware, it's the best PC they've ever owned and the ACER WS display is top-notch. Entire system was $500, couldn't beat the price.

No dead pixels out of those 3, no broken parts.

If this screen above is everything the spec's make it out to be, it's sure to live up to your expectations.

Be nice to see a price, doubt like the article says it will cost a bomb.

From what I've experience, Acer is very crappy too. Might be because I've only tried some of their low-end models though.
