I don't believe that darks that would be there are not due to lack of detail and poor lighting effects on the PS3's part or anything. To me, it looks nothing more than if the lightbulb in a room they are in is a 100 watt bulb rather than a 60 watt bulb. It doesn't look washed out, the colors look equally vibrant, I see no loss in detail, it's just plain brighter to me. I asked my friend what he thinks and he said the same thing. He said the only difference was the 360's looked darker, and I asked what he thought about the lighting detail and he didn't think anything of the detail, simply that it was darker/brighter.

And I guess the snow is a big deal, I would have to play the level and decide if I liked having the snow effect or not. I generally don't like having weather in games, it just gets in the way of my field of view and makes things a bit more awkward/difficult to see things far away. But sometimes it's nice to have weather, in the right places.

You know, I own both and favor the 360 over the PS3 for gaming. With the comparison of UT3, there isn't much of a difference but with other games there is a clear difference. Maybe it's just what I am used to but this game aside, I feel the 360's graphics look better in most games.

I own both as well, and generally favor the PS3. I own COD4 for both systems and have done my own tests...

You guys are aware that you can choose which server you want to play on? Either keyboard and mouse only, controller only, or both? It's up to the hosts to determine what can be used.

The PS3 online play for this is going to be horrible because 1 person with a kb/mouse can and will dominate the entire server. Eventually everyone without a kb/mouse will quit and you'll have to wait 30 minutes just to get a game going. The 360 version will have a level playing field that will ensure everyone gets a chance to play.
Lol, all this fair play crap. There are options to filter out KB/Mouse servers in UT3, so you can have your "fair play" if you really want it. I meant if UT3 didn't have KB/Mouse support I wouldn't have bought it because I hate using the controller for FPS, and a KB/Mouse are both more accurate, and raise the intensity/pace of the game. It takes MUCH longer on the controller to turn around, so long that you will probably be dead by the time you do. With a KB/Mouse you can do a quick 180 and shoot that guy who is about to kill you, or use your ears to hear someone sneaking up on you. Also, FPS isn't always about "fair play", or everyone having fun. Sometimes, its about competition, playing to win, and not being held back by imaginary rules about what you can and can't do (ex: use of KB/Mouse). I don't want to rape people, I want a challenge, and the KB/Mouse brings that to the table.

Umm your being a fanboy because there is no such thing as a mandated tv to use the ps3. A computer monitor can be used. Stop inflating the price. Monitors are also HDCP compliant as well. Hence why monitor can accept HDMI input and are classified(some) as HDCP compliant. There are people who use their ps3/xbox on monitors instead of tvs.

Hope I don't get flamed for this, but while I haven't played UT3 at all (doubt I will), from the vids posted, it seems like it has the same feel as Halo 3. Does anyone else get that feeling? Anyhoo, like I said, I have yet to experience it first hand...

He means fair play in terms of a level playing field. if you were in a race and the rules said you had to pick a crappy car and the other guy got to pick a kick ass car is that a fair level of play?

In baseball, having some one taking steroids and setting a home run record and then you try to do it your self without steroids is not a fair level of play. It putting one team/person at an advantage that the other team can not reach.

While yes they can go out and get a kb/m like you, they are limited in turning speed and accuracy. Just like you don't like controllers, they don't like KB/m. Also if you find KB/m challenging, then pick up a controller and use that since part of a challenge isn't always what you like. I prefer controller but i know how to use a kb/m.

If I'm playing TF2 and i'm having a sniper battle, you damn well know i'm using kb/m because i'm at a disadvantage when it comes to accuracy and speed on a controller. But its not fun for you to be the only person in a room with a kb/m and everyone has a controller. You automatically have an advantage whether you like it or not. Which since you like a challenge, takes away the challenge.

i have both ps3 and 360. i like the ps3 more because of the features like bluetooth, bluray, and usb charging controllers, as well as the fact that you can use any laptop harddrive in it. i like the 360 because of xbox live, which is superior over psn

The difference here is that they don't have to drive a bad car, they can use the better one, but they choose not to, then complain.

This is a bad analogy, steroids are illegal (against the rules) in sports, whereas KB/Mouse use is completely fine in UT3, if it wasn't it wouldn't be in the game.

I find playing UT3 against other KB/Mouse players challenging, I don't find it fun to go into a server with all controllers and "owning", I'd rather them be on the same level of accuracy.

I'm really tired of people on controllers complaining when they get killed by a KB/Mouse player. Either upgrade, get off the KB/Mouse server, or stop whining.
