Actually, that's exactly what I did after I couldn't get results with uninstalling the drivers alone, but it didn't increase performance at all. It turns out my memories of previous benchmarks may not have been correct (my 3DMark06 score may have been much lower), or I may not have used the exact same settings (in Crysis). I have since come to be happy with my results.

Now for an update: This card runs HOT. I let it heat up to its highest IDLE temp, and it went as high as 77*. 77 F***ING DEGREES. On load, it was around 85*. And this was after changing the stock TIM to some OCZ Freeze.

Sooooooo, that wasn't flying well with me at all, so I went out and bought an Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 (Rev 2) passive VGA cooler. I didn't like the idea of no air, so I added my own fans to it that I had lying around: 1 Scythe S-Flex E 120mm fan, and 1 Scythe PWM 92 mm fan, effectively turning the thing into 1 huge monster. Loaded it up, and it sits at 34* idle, and 43* on load!!!!!!! That's just barely shy of a 50% decrease. I wish I could OC this card further now! I actually think I read it is possible to bypass the limit on the CCC with some sort of BIOS tool. Going to look into it, and will report back if I can manage to squeeze some more out of this.

I'll let you know if I get that high... it's a pretty new card, so I'd rather not kill it in one shot just yet .
