i have a x38 asus mobo a E8400 and a

would you suggest a 4870 to be worth it?

did you notice any diff in games?
or will my 8800gt be fine for a while till hard games come out
I would stay with the 8800gt until you could buy a 4870X2. The 4870 is a good card but the 4870X2 will give you much better performance in the long run.

Also I am not rich by any means. I buy cards, test them and then sell them. I forgot to update this thread to say that I will not be testing the 4870 in crossfire mode. I got a great deal on a gtx 280 so I am selling my 4870 on ebay right now for $250.

The 4850 & 4870 are so close in the vantage score. What are the differences between the 2 to justify the $100 difference? Nice work on the comparison +1.
