8800GTX SLI or something else..

I've got a 8800GTX as you can see, and I am wondering wether I should get another in SLI, or try and sell it and get something new altogether. Thanks in advance.

GTX is pretty cheap now so it is a good option to SLI but you have intel P35 board so you can't do SLI unless you have nvidia board. GTX should be OK for 22" lcd unless you are unhappy about it now. I would stick with it and save money now. What's your budget? Maybe it is time to take a look at another option such as 4850CF or 4870 etc.

Yeah, I don't know exactly what I was thinking, but I forgot about my mobo. Well, I don't want to go replacing the mobo and all, so at the moment and the near future, what would be the best option for a single GPU?

Im pretty happy overall with my 9800GX2. Was a good upgrade for me from the 8800gtx. Crysis runs 25fps Avg with 1680x1050 which my native resolution. Cant wait for FarCry2

Not too long ago, I got me a 790i board and stuck my 8800GTX in there, with the plan to add another 8800GTX in there, as they now are cheap.

However, considering how hardware and brands are evolving, I'm starting to regret that purchase. I won't be buying a new mobo any time, so the only option to seriously improve my graphics would be a single card like you.

If you're up for making a big jump, wait for the 4870 X2 to come out. It smokes the GTX280 and doesn't need a CF board unless you want to run two of those cards.

That's exactly what I am going to do

By the time I'm up for a mobo upgrade, it would be to be able to upgrade to Bloomsfield, which also means I will need an intel chipset, and they support CF. So even later down the road I could just put a 2nd 4870 x2 in there.

Even for a single card GPU the 790i board is still great, it overclocks mem and CPU like charm, making it not a total waste
