Killed prime on my own after 2 hrs. Updated the bios settings to allow the NB 1.5v and the NB GTL to .67 and put the SB on auto. Upped the FSB to 460 from 450 (3.7GHz) and im unstable.

What next?

Jumped the NB GTL to .68 and it goes for a whopping 1 minute longer!

What is the stock VID on that chip? Mine is horrendous at 1.25v, and I need 1.4v load to be 24 hour prime stable at 3.6GHz.

Most 45nm chips like between .61 and .63 on the GTL. My E8400 like .61, my X3350 likes .63. After .63, stability declines for me.

1.3v vtt should suffice for 460 FSB, if such a setting is going to be stable at all.

You should also be aware that the P45 is on a smaller manufacturing process than the P35/X38/X48. It does not need as much voltage, and should not be given as much. The three older chipsets can take 1.65v no problem, but I wouldn't go past 1.45-1.5v on the P45.

Not too sure off hand. Id have to go to stock to find out. Ill do it on next reboot.

You might try 1.6 on the PLL, but do not exceed that voltage. Higher PLL than 1.6 has been known to kill 45nm chip in fairly short order. Same goes with Vtts over 1.35-1.38 or so.

GTL is not like a tradition voltage setting, it needs to stay within a small range. That number is not a voltage, its the percentage (0.63 is 63%) of the vtt to use.

I've never heard of high GTL percentages helping anything. With a 65nm I don't see why one would ever need more than 68-69%, and with a 45nm I've never heard of more than 64% being benefical.

New settings:

Vcore 1.4
CPU GTLs .63 and .67
CPU PLL 1.64v
FSB Term 1.38
Dram 2.20
NB 1.5v
NB GTL .63
SB 1.20
PCIE Sata volt - 1.5v
Ram timings 5-5-5-15-45

Running prime longer than I did now. About 10 min in.

For some odd reason though when benching with this chip in my last board and in this one (780i SLI evga), my load temp goes into about 80*C. I think this HSF is too big for my motherboard and its not making full contact with the CPU.

Lower that ram voltage to 2 or 2.1 if your not overclocking it, I only have mine that high because it is overclocked a lot and has a 120mm fan cooling it. Also, I took the socket lock off my board because the block was hitting it somehow, that helped temps dramatically, but I don;t know if you are having the same problem.
