2 Questions Q9450

Thread Starter
Ok i got 2 little questions about the Q9450 which might help me getting a higher overclock.

First question needs the following screenshot:

I got Everest Ultimate, Real temp and Coretemp running here and Everest-Coretemp both show almost same temps. But Real Temp gives much lower temps (which in my thought is beter). I just want to know if Real temp REALLY is the only one that gives a good measured temp of my Q9450.

And the second question is about the voltage. I dont really know much about those and want to know 2 things. What is the STOCK voltage of the Q9450 and what voltage is the max without frying the cpu.

Thx all

Q9450 at 3.5G. I would trust Everest and Coretemp more in this case. Restore your cpu back to stock speed and get a good read of your idle temp. If it is still high, check the HS to see if it is loose. Each chip acts differently. In core temp, the VID is the 'stock voltage'. In your screen, the VID is 1.25v which is kind of high for 45nm quad. In general, keep the 45nm chip under 1.36v.

Realtemp for 45nm procs.
Vcore < 1.4 is my limit, but 1.36 is advised throughout the world.

even still,
the safety trend is to keep cpu's below 60c LOAD.

45-50 idle is not good.

lets see some prime95 (or similar) load temps!

Wow I didn't even notice those were idle temps.
Those are my loads while FAH right now.

If 50C is your idle, you may be a bit too high - the processor can handle it though. Looking at your min and max temps - those don't seem to bad - 41-46C idle and 52C-ish load is FINE. Also, this processor usually doesn't need much voltage to run some pretty high numbers.

Hey Rocker, sweet Sig lol

Ok to be sure that the temps are as low as i can get i putted fans in pc on full for 10 minutes doing nothing.

I surely hope real temp gives right temps. Everest is saying vcore is 1.20 on stock (left on auto, fsb is 1333 (2,66ghz total) just like the rest.
