What settings should I be able to run Battlefield 2 on?

So yeah I have Battlefield 2, but I'm wondering what specs I should be able to run it smoothly on? Because I feel that I should be able to run it better than I do.

I'm not gonna say what I run it on, so that it doesn't influence anyones answers, but I will tell you it's still on 800x600 @ 60hz and 100% View Distance.

For those who don't wanna look at my sys specs here are the important ones:

AMD Athlon XP-M 2800+ (2.13ghz)
BFG GeForce 6200 256mb OC
2gb DDR1 RAM
Sound Blaster Audigy SE

Low-mid (mostly low settings, some medium) @ 800x600. 100% draw is a killer BTW, or was.

I was pulling medium with 75% draw distance (1024x768) on my 6600GT while back at 30ish FPS if im recalling correctly

just remember without 100% draw other players will see your first. Id prefer low/med settings with 100% draw but its up to you. So if your sniping you would miss a fair few kills or be killed by another sniper you cant see. Just turn off things like AA/AF and lighting and shadows on low.

It's not all about the graphics card dude. A good deal of it is also processor. That's why they recommend 3ghz...which I don't have of course.

I used to pay BF2 on an Athlon 2500+ @ 2.4Ghz, 1Gb DDR-333 and a Radeon 9550 on medium at 1024x768 around 30FPS.

The 9550 performed somewhere around the 6200

I'd say mostly low, some medium. I'd say just save your money up and build a new rig.

You could try investing in a new CPU cooler (for like £20-25) and try to overclock your chip. You probably won't get to 3GHz, but you should be able to close the gap a bit
