Whats a good Crossfire mobo?

Thread Starter
I've had an EVGA 680i mobo for a while now, and it has served me well(Easy to OC and good bios). I have never bought an nvidia video card before and was planning to go SLI once the GTX200s came out. Now that the new 4000 series cards are dominating, I think I might stay with ATI.

What I am looking for is an LGA775 Mobo that overclocks well and is very stable. I really want to minimize troubleshooting.

I hear that the X48 is a good chipset to go with. I am looking at the DFI one in particular(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136047) but DFI is a brand that I have never heard of before. Is there anyone out there with an X38 or X48 board that could give me some direction?

Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are looking for an easy board to OC I'd stay away from DFI. DFI makes a great OCing board, but it can get complicated. Asus and then Gigabyte are easier to OC. Either X38 or X48 are good OCing boards. X38 has a more mature BIOS and probably be easier because more people have them and could advise you here if you have questions.

Edit: like this.

I have the DFI DK X38, and couldn't be happier. The only reason the X48 is around is because of ungodly higher FSB support that nobody even uses, so don't bother with it. X38 all the way, DFI ftw.

Asus P5E or Asus Maximus Formula/Maximus extreme
the p5e and maximus can have a bios mod put on them so they have the same bios as the rampage formula (x48 board) which gives you more oc options for less $$ .

never seen any comments on this board... mabye you can be our test dummy

But x48 is DDR3 while x38 sticks with the old DDR2?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813130157R

I'm liking this board alot since it supports both.

Theres also this asrock mobo:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157129
but just awful mobo layout.
