Suggest a PDA?

Thread Starter
Well heres my bind... I want something PDA'ish but I don't really want a Smartphone for a few reasons.

Primarily I don't want a SmartPhone because the only one I would consider is an iPhone but I can't change providers due to contract and I have this undying hatred for AT&T.

Anyway just in the world of PDA's in general I found this one:

Looks pretty nifty - I know Asus has been doing well with their EeePC line and figure anything else from them would have the same level of quality.

Still browsing through other PDAs...although there seems to be much less of them now given that Smartphones have invaded

Looks nice but $299 is a bit steep for just a PDA. If you use a GSM carrier you can get a smartphone like mine.

$219 before shipping and it does all the same stuff except it doesn't have a touchscreen.

Circuit city also sells pda's, check out their selection. I've owned an hp hx2415 and two sony clie's (discontinued now). I now own a treo 700wx, and I love it, and the 800wx will be coming soon.

That PDA looks nifty, but I was disappointed to see that it has only a USB 1.1 interface--which might make for painfully slow synchronizations... What are you hoping to get out of the PDA that you can't get out of a regular modern cell phone (note: NOT a smartphone). Most cell phones nowadays have lots of organizational options--calendars, notes, etc--they just lack the qwerty-style keyboard that a lot of smartphones offer (which, IMHO, are a bit too small to use any easier than the intelli-type style input on most current cell phones). Do you want media playback? (that one is a bit low-spec for great media playback. The wireless LAN is nice--definitely don't get one with out that. Make sure to research battery life as well (I don't know any specifics about that model you linked to).
