Thread Starter
hey guys,

i'm ordering a couple fans from newegg tonight or tomorrow and i'm looking at various scythe fans.

i've picked out a couple but i need you guys opinion on dB ratings.

1) 33 dB 87 CFM here
2) 37 dB 110 CFM here
3) 28 dB 64 CFM here
4) 20dB 49 CFM here

edit: 120mm && two of these are going to be wired tied onto an accelero s1

i've seen charts,
i know under 20 dB is basically inaudible.
over 35-40 is noticeable.

i just wanted to see what you guys think would be the best ones.

option 1 looks to be the best from a stats point of view.. but this can be taken to mean very little if they are different brands..

which fans are they? For example, Silenx can be very silent if used in exactly the right conditions, but in less opportune circumstances are hardly worth the money..

I use Scythe S-FLEX SFF21F: 28dBA and 63.7 CFM.
$12.99 each when I bought 4 at a time.

I can't really see you needing to push more air, and you can hear the fans at full voltage as front intakes. So I wouldn't go any louder than that, the fans I suggested are pricy tho.

No problem. Nice greeting.

Anyway, I have an Accelero S1 rev 2 on my 8800gt, one fan keeps it under 60 degrees celsius at full load OC to 675/975. That fan is:

• Model number: DF1202512SELN
• Size: 120x120x25mm
• Voltage: 7~13.2 VDC
• Speed: 1,500 rpm
• Airflow: 50.4 CFM
• Pressure: 1.93 mm H2O
• Noise: 25.6 dBA

Something I pulled off my cheapo Coolermaster case at the time. I am throwing an Accelero S1 rev 2 on my 4870 with one of my extra Scythe fans. Thanks to UPS, I can't try it until Monday. (Jet engines...... ENGAGE!)
