Also computers loose their value the second the thing is bought, next year this 5000 dollar system turns into a 2500 value, then 1250 until your lucky to sell it on ebay But you had a good time.... 800 frames in Counter strike over your friend's 200. Money well spent

Tri-SLI is very nice (Crysis 2560x1600 @81FPS OMG /drool), but one should be good enough for me!

That's the case with nearly every hobby. I built a $5k remote control truck and ended up selling it for $400 to a friend when I lost interest in the hobby. I can't think of a hobby that doesn't lose value unless you consider "coin or card collecting" a hobby.
