yeah and Tri-SLI is the worst with the third card you get like a 5% boost

CF and SLI is worth it at 1900x1200 or 2650x1600

A single card usually does the trick @1440x.... A 9800GTX+ may not be enough tho for any game maxed, but a GTX 260 will certainly be.

/off-topic have you considered a 4870? Free anti-aliasing.

i play all my games at max with 1 card at 1920x1200 resolution with no problems but yeah a 2nd card would be better but I think a more worthy upgrade for me would be the R700 later down the line if i wanted more frames and don't want to deal with mobo upgrade.

of course i like the AMD/ATi way of making an 3870 X2 and 4870 x2 graphics cards so it doesn't force people to buy a CF mb to be able to CF

Surprisingly, though, triSLI scales pretty damn well
http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforc...review-test/10

But for his resolution a single 260 is definitely enough.

Listen to the guy with absolutely no grammar skills!

Get a single 260. With the insane price drops on Nvidia's products right now, you'll feel like you paid too much for it very soon anyways. Get it from EVGA and you might be able to step up for just a few bucks in 90 days.

i hear another price drop is coming but the only GTX260 i have seen for $300 is the ugly MSI one. EVGA and XFX are still $379 wait till they drop to $299
