Would it not post if the cmos battery was dead? Thats something I have never ran into.

Here is an option to check. Is the h/s seated correctly. I just had the same thing happen to my friend and me. Everything came on, but no boot up. I took off his old h/s, and put on a new stock h/s that I had laying around. It fired right up. I guess it was just a safety thing, because the h/s and CPU didn't have good contact.

Its possible since the celeron is lapped, and I am using my stock cooler off my e8400. Its so hard to tell, although all the fans and things come on and stay on.
