E4500 at 3.0Ghz bottle neck 4870?

Thread Starter
hi my system has changed since my last post asking if my E4500 stock would bottle neck a 4870

since that post i bought my self a lovely x48 gigabyte mother board so i was able to upgrade from a pcie-1.0 to pcie-2.0 and i am now able to overclock my E4500 to 3.0Ghz

will i still bottle neck a 4870 with my new mobo and overclocked cpu?

will i need to buy a new cpu like the E8400 before i buy a 4870 to get the best out of it

thanks a lot as always for all your help

it probably will be a bottleneck but you wouldnt even notice it
only a very OCed quad or the e8400 at 3,5Ghz+ can use the 4870 at its full potential

I have a E4500 @ 3.02GHz and a 4850 and I don't notice any lag/slow downs.

Pretty much no matter what frequency your chip is today, it's pretty much always going to bottleneck a high end GPU.
