E6750 BIOS Settings help

Thread Starter
Hi All

I want to be able to overclock my E6750 at a stable setting.

From the screenshots could someone help me with what settings I need to change in the bios to acheive say 3.4Ghz or maybe more?

At the moment if I change the FSB to 400 it crashes my computer after a few minutes. I've read on other posts people getting to 3.4 quite easy. Also I can't seem to change the mulitple from 8.0 to 9.0, is it locked?

D.O.T Control - Cpu & PCIE or cpu only?
Intel EIST - On or Off?
CPU FSB Frequency - ??
CPU Ratio - Can't seem to adjust, stuck at 8?

FSB/Memory Ratio - Auto or ????

PCIEx4 Speed Controller - Auto or ????
PCIE Frequency - ???

Voltages - greyed out, unable to adjust

For the first two settings, you'll want to take a look at this thread for the MSI-specific settings.
Frequency - this is not a simple change, you'll have to increase it gradually and test along the way to make sure it's still stable.
Ratio - keep this at the maximum for your processor (8x).

FSB/Memory - Keep this as low as possible while you overclock your processor. Once you're done overclocking your processor, you can mess around with this setting to overclock your memory.
PCI-E Frequency - 100MHz.

I'm not sure what the PCIEx4 speed controller setting is.

As for the voltages, I have a hunch its related to the D.O.T. control, but as I've never used an MSI board before, I can't say for certain.

Here is the specs for your cpu e6750. The highest multi for that chip is 8. If it is unstable at 400fsb. You have to raise the cpu vcore up a bit to 1.36. Or raise the nb to 1.4v to start with.
try to put your fsb/memory to 1:1.
Change you memeory voltage from auto to 1.8 for a start. Seen you are using 4x1gig you may have to bump up the voltage to help get it stable.

You should be able to get at less 3.6 with that chip easy. Once you get it stable at 3.4 just bump the fsb by 10mhz until it's not stable then start to bump up the vcore by .01. You are good till 1.5 vcore.

Just watch your temp your good to 70c on load but try to keep it at 65c to be safe. g/l

Every adjustment concerning overclocking is located in the "Cell Menu"
Here is the site for your board so that you know where to change the settings. It shows you how to oc that board.

Before you overclocking, please set “D.O.T. Control” and“Intel EIST” functions to be Disabled (Default is Enabled). For the two settings will decide the voltage of processor, system bus, which have to be disabled to enable user defined function. When the setting is finished, “CPU Ratio CMOS Setting” option will appear.
