Question regarding Antec P182

Thread Starter
I've had this case for a while now... since about December. I've never been able to open the case door fully (apparently it's supposed to open all the way and lie flat on the case) ...is there some sort of technique for this? Because I've never been able to do it!

Also, a question regarding the blue LED at the front of the case... as far as I know the connector for that is a 3 pin connector however my motherboard requires 2 pins for the LED... so what am I supposed to do exactly?

Cheers

The door should lie flat on the side, its just got 2 plastic lumps on the top of the door that slot into little holes to keep it from going all the way around in one go, so if you just keep pushing the door around it should pop open pretty easy. Mine opens without much force but when new it was a little more stiff. Just give it a good pull and see

and im 99% sure the led wire from my 182 is 2 pin, perhaps check it again? I used an asus Q connector for mine and looking at pictures of the Q connector it only has 2 pin slots for the LED's and i dont remember having any troubles with it.

Yeppers...when mine was brand new - it stuck a little - but after about 10 - 15 openings...it doesn't require much force at all.

As to the pin question...

You can chenge the order of the pins from slots 1 & 3 to slots 1 & 2 or slots 2 & 3. You end up with the empty slot hanging off of the mobo connection..but it is an adpapter free fix that works every time.

haha, i'm glad i'm not the only one who thought their door could open 180 degrees

PS: if you push in on the intake fan grills, they pop out and it gives you access to the dust filters....if you've had the case since december i would give them a good vacuum

(just another thing that i didn't know about right away on the case)

Check the picture for what I mean by switching slots.

EDIT: Oops - I got that backwards in the PIC...Slot 1 will be empty and hang over.

Thanks alot mate, appreciate it.

How do I remove the wire from the slot and put it into the other one? Just yank out the wire and force it into another slot or is there a technique to it?

No real force is required.

The pin is secured in by a tab. If you look on the back-side of the connector (the side without the writing) - you can see the plastic piece that is holding the pin in. Use a tiny flathead screwdriver and you can pull out the plstic tab and pull the wire out.

Then just insert the wire into the empty slot and that plastic tab will hold it in place.

Done. LED is working now. Thank you

I have another question (unrelated to this)... maybe someone will be able to help.

One of the SATA cables is stuck and can't be removed from the motherboard... I have no idea what caused this, but it definitely seems to be stuck. The other SATA cable comes out without any effort, just hold the clip thing down and it's free.

Glad you got the LED's up and running.

As to the SATA...
It should come up without much pressure...Try giving it a little more force.

If you still nedd help with that one, then I would post a new thread in the motheroard section.
