Well I found some screen door spline molding, looks like it should do the trick, will definitely look different compared to what everyone is use to seeing.

ussualy small small holes i go to Ace and look for grommets that fit

See thats the problem, they are small, but too big for even the biggest grommets they have, I was just there 30 minutes ago and thats where I got this screen spline molding.

I used vaccuum hose (that I had left over from my car's turbo setup) that I split down the middle with a razor. Easy to get at autozone for $1 sq/ft to try out. The holes I made weren't that small, but it should work anyway.

I was about to do the exact same thing until I found this splicing screen stuff, but I too have to split it down the middle.

I used the smallest clear gas line I could find. like you said just split it straight with an exacto knife and its very pliable.
