SLI, Overclocking, & Volt Modding.

Hey guys, I need some help on this topic and some nice information and knowledge passed my way. Here is the situation i am having.

I bought my first nvidia 8800GT-SC-edition and covered the GPU with the TT DuOrb.
My Temperatures are 37 Idle and roughly 45-48 under load depending on the game im playing or the benchmark im running.
The stock clocks on mine are 650 - 1750 - 950
I had no problem at all overclocking this card to 720-1800-1100
Awesome preformance.
After about a month i bought a second 8800GT also SC edition.
Put the same Heatsink on it, TT DuOrb.
Installed fine and of course the clock speeds went back to default.
Both cards default, I opened up GPU-Z and noticed the memory versions or bios versions or something, were different.
Most people know when you overclock one card in SLi, the other card follows and operates at the same speed. Once i got the second 8800GT in my system I wasnt able to OC as high because the second card would not keep up with my 1st card. Which sucks..... bigtime, for somone like myself who isnt looking to increase FPS just an enthusiast who loves performance.

So i was hoping to get some ideas suggestions or maybe help on what i should do as far as getting that second card to match my firsts in performance. Would volt modding help or Do i need to check the heatsink or ram mosfets.

The main thing i have been getting is artifacts in games like Bioshock, etc.
So i'm not sure if its due to lack of voltage or if the ram chips just suck or can the 2nd card just straight up not handle the bandwidth of 700-1800-1000

If anyone has any ideas, throw them my way please!

have you tested the second by its self

No, i have not tested the 2nd card alone.
As far as clock speeds and stress test.
Assuming i was wrong, this would prove it.
But, if the first card clocked it fine, and when second was introduced the OC was unstable, is the reason i assumed or am assuming its the clock speeds on that new card.
Any ideas or details?
Why should i test that second alone ?
To find its max settings ?

the best way to do this is test each card to find the max oc and then run them at the lowest of the two max overclocks.

like if i sli'd my gt (740/1850/1075) with my buddys gt(775/1915/1015) we have to run them @ 740/1850/1000. due my card being the slower of the two.

Of course, stuff like that i am already aware of.
I would like to know how to improve my second card.
Reason for this post.
Would volt modding help? Because my temperatures are way in range of being able to go higher.

bump, for help.

yes a volt mod would help. but with a vold mod id do it to both cards. then play with the voltage to get both card even

Hopefully it will allow my clock speeds to improve.

You can try voltmodding the BIOS of the one that's lagging behind. There's a tutorial somewhere around here that tells you how to do it on a 8800gt.
