Polymer Vision’s “Readius†is a pocket-sized device featuring the same E Ink technology that Amazon’s Kindle uses. The difference is that the Readius’ screen unfolds from a small pocket-sized device into a 5-inch diagonal display. It will be introduced in England, Italy, and Germany this fall and will make it to the US in early 2009.

The price is not yet set, but Thomas van der Zijden, vice president for marketing and sales, said the Readius would be more expensive than the Kindle, which now is selling for $359.

Look up E-ink, that'll give you a good idea. Basically you can read e-books or text using it. Its like a portable book, because people hate reading e-books on computer screens. This you can take places, and store lots of books. It also uses a glare free media, so it wont be difficult to read in bright light, like LCDs are. Ive seen a couple demos of it, and it looks almost like its real paper. Really interesting stuff.

I've had my eye on kindle for a while, price needs to come down some but I love the idea of an e-book reader that I can just order a book on and it downloads instantly anywhere I am. I hate having to find time to go to the book store every time I'm done with a book, lol.

Where no price tag has gone before!

Few more years before going mainstream.
