You ok for +6hours ?

Could you post your stats from CPUID and tell me your VID hehe ?

Also what program do you use to read temp, RealTemp v2.68 ?

I read somewhere that its common for people to get inaccurate temps from the E8### chips and some people have a problem where the sensors are sticking and can get no readings at all.
Since temp readings are only a guide and not a true reflection of actual temperature, Intel will not countenance this as a problem because they dont offer temp control as part of cpu spec and modern chips have a built in shut off mechanism when a dangerous temp is reached.

I have had my chip in and out about a dozen times applying different compounds of differing amounts and ive even lapped it and always the same discrepancy between the 2 cores and the same temperatures.

I am changing my board this week so i will do a bit more lapping on the chip and heat sink but i really wont be holding my breath.
I have done alot of "research" into this. These readings are both acccurate but a settings sets them apart. Each chip has its own TjMax. On most programs (Core temp included) this is set to 100. on "real temp" it lets u set it. It is most likely on 90 dude to the 10c difference in temps. Only intel knows the real TjMax of each processor but people have done tests by undervolting and measuring temps with a piece of kit not sofware. Q6600 is believed to around TjMax 95 and the E8400 i think is 90 or 95. Google "TjMax of E8400" and see what u find. U can change TjMax is realtemp settings.

Home this helps
