I just found a better video card for cheaper

8800gt

That's a killer price with the MIR. I'll post it in the deals section.

No complaints from me, well perhaps a X2 5000BE instead of the E2180 but there's nothing wrong with that build.

I'm trying to cut corners with stuff but I think I've chipped away at the build as much as I can.

Any update on this?

I ask because a cousin of mine asked about getting a new PC. He's on a P3 800Mhz... To make it worse, he has less than 512MB RAM because the onboard graphics is using some resources. He asked me what he could do to make it faster... I told him to just buy a new one!

It's a great rig, make sure you overclock the processor though
also, any winners picked yet here?

For a $400 budget I would definitely go AMD. For $400 you could get an X2 4600+ (2.4GHz), 8800GT 512mb, solid OCing mobo, 2x1GB DDR2 800, 250gb HD, SATA DVDRW, and I would recommend a Rosewill Stallion Series 450W PSU (they have some of the best-reviewed PSUs on newegg).

yeah...but no future there...he could get some lighter Intel based system, and upgrade in 2-3 months when pricecuts are expected...

Newegg PSU reviews = useless.

Any reviews that do not have a load tester and oscilloscope isn't a review. It is an opinion with little weight.
