Have no idea what motherboard to get(need some other help too)

I'm looking to finally build a new computer(mine is slow as hell just on the internet, and Athlon 2400) and I am completely out of touch with hardware now. I've had some parts suggested to me but I don't really know what to look for.

So far I've kinda decided on an E8400, 2gb of Gskill DDR2 800 RAM, a Radeon 4850, I've got a 160 gb barracude hard drive already I'll just use until I fill it up or get sick of the slow speed(it's not SATA, it's got those dumb ribbons that I hate so much) a Corsair 650w psu, an Antec 300 case.

Now I come to the motherboard. I have no idea what to get. I've been trying to decide based on reviews and so I was going to go with the P35 DS3L but it's been discontinued and the replacement seems to suck, I'm not sure if the bios would be any better on the P45 version of the board, and there's no reviews on newegg so I don't really want to take a risk of getting a problematic board since I don't like upgrading much and want this up and running as soon as possible, not waiting weeks returning things and spending restocking fees and such. I was thinking of a Blood Iron, how's that? I doubt I'll be using 2 video cards so I'm sure SLI or Crossfire isn't an issue.Have no

Also I'm not too sure of the RAM, it's got good reviews but a lot of bad reviews saw it doesn't work with something with voltages different. And any suggestions for a heatsink that'll work well with whatever board I get, the Blood Iron seems to be a bit cramped and that a better cooler might not fit. I don't overclock but I figure if I want to make my computer last longer(I don't want to have to upgrade for at while(like 2 years maybe) after I'm done putting it together) I might as well learn and do a bit. Oh, and I forgot to say I'm not getting Vista right away but I will soon.

Anyway, any suggestions? I'd like it to cost less than $850 after shipping and taxes.

I'd say the bloodiron is a good board. I haven't worked with it personally, so I am not sure about the fit of larger coolers, but I haven't heard any issues with it (and a brand known for overclocking wouldn't make the mistake to limit the choice in cooling options...)
