The Sony had the richest, deepest sound. The bass was excellent. The Shuffle gets flatter, and the creative is extremely flat (kinda disappointing for the "king of sound cards.")
So I find this could be believable, but I wouldn't imagine the zen belongs up there.
I am not an audiophile in any way shape or form but I loved my Zen Touch compared to my Ipod Video. The Zen seemed to have more life and give more bass, I dunno. Maybe I'm screwed in the head.

and you do have to give apple props on their really easy, almost impossible to mess up interface with itunes.
my grandma figured it out the second time she booted up a computer, EVER!
Props to your grandmother. She is smarter than me, I hated iTunes with a passion. I didn't know how to upload single songs, only whole albums. And when I would upload an album I couldn't get it back off. Hell, I had 3 years worth of photos on my iPod due to re-installing my OS and I couldn't even get them back off!
I found it extremely hard to use for some reason.

QFT, I love the old drag and drop. Why didn't Apple go with that anyways? It is more fool proof and a lot more efficient.
Another thing as well, it took iTunes quite a while to put songs onto my iPod. It would take Creative Media Center under a second to write each song onto my Zen. I loved the speed in which that thing shoved songs onto the MP3 player.
Shame my mate threw a water balloon on it
Not on purpose of course
