Does anyone know if there is any mp3 player with internet capabilities ( other than the iPod touch)?

My Iriver Clix G1 had an ok sound quality, but my new Zen trumped it. I was originally planning on buying the Clix 2 and now I kinda wish I did.

Creative zen and cowon d2 should be at the top, but everything else is in proper order.

the bad thing about Zune is that it can not display chinese characters, or japanese characters.
and not everyone only listens to english titled music... lol
and the zune software sucks so bad, maybe i was just so used to itune
even the zune sounds so much better than ipod,
i would still pick ipod because it is easier to use in terms of the ipod itself and the software.

Fixed.

Anyway, I have a Sansa m250. Excellent little device, except I had to return the first one to the store because I didn't know it didn't recognize WAVs. I found that out when I started the device, and it wouldn't go past "Initializing". It would just freeze. Learned my lesson, returned the thing for a replacement of the same player, and all was well. Thing still works just fine after 3+ years, I don't keep much music on portable devices so I don't need more than its internal 2GB. Quality-wise I'd say it's good enough, no real complaints paired with Centrios 3312003 headphones.

Yeah, out of all MP3 devices I've listened on, Sonys have the best sound quality. The battery could possibly be even more impressive, though. On a single AA rechargeable battery (1800mAh), I got 5 weeks of battery life, that's listening on the device 1-2 hours a day, every day. That battery even had to spin an optical disk. Sony makes lots of stuff I consider "meh," but I believe they shine in mp3 players.

I don't consider them "low" quality, but just not as good as Sony.

I can't attest to that. My Shuffle is a 2nd gen. Its sound is relatively good. Not excellent, but good.

As horrible, flat, and distorted as your grammar/spelling? Jk

I still think apple's mp3 players have much better sound quality than creative's (which is ironic, to say the least.) Creative's sound on mp3 players is just FLAT. I won't get into the RMAs and horrible quality...

Once again, this is about sound quality, not features.

Ugh, my zen touch was horrible. I think I still have it. If I do, it hasn't been used for over 2 years. Horrible sound quality (no matter the EQ settings), slow, big and heavy, and needed to be RMAed (and they charged me $30 still under warranty.) The refurb piece of crap they gave me back showed no improvement. In fact, it is also dead.

I guess creative figured since the player was so thick and fat, they should make at least SOMETHING flat. Hey, why not the sound quality?

What in the hell is "breath" and "exit?"

Load an IPod up with Apple Lossless, and it will sound better then any MP3/Player. The only thing relevant to "sound quality" is the song file itself. Whether your songs are ripped to MP3 128kb, 320kb, ripped using LAME encoder, ripped using EAC, to AAC, to WMV, or to a lossless format are what matter. The actual D/A (digital to analogue) conversion between players aren't going to vary by much.

The majority of live sound engineers I've worked with who tune a PA system to a room, such as an amphitheater or a coliseum, use VBR MP3s on a classic IPod... even Kenny G's sound engineer whom I worked with 2 weeks ago.
