Overclock Issue

Thread Starter
Hey,

So I'm trying to overclock my computer, but I'm limited for some reason. I can change the FSB to 354 with an 8.5 multiplier, but anytime I move the FSB any higher, the computer starts and runs for about 10 seconds (the POST doesn't show though), and then it automatically restarts. Once it restarts, all the overclock settings are reset to auto (including the custom timings for my RAM, etc.) and I have to redo everything. According to overclockersclub.com, my setup should allow for a 463 x 8 stability, so why can't I boot?

Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks!

The CPU probably isn't getting enough voltage so it shuts off before it can load into windows. If you put voltage up a notch you may find it gets into windows fine but then crashes under any load, so a few notches up may be needed. Watch your temps when putting this up though .

The core voltage for my CPU is 1.2, and I have it set to 1.3625 already. Should I go any higher than that?

Thanks!

You can bump to ~1.4V safely, it's when you get to 1.5 that things get a little hairy. I'd give it another go with a higher voltage.
