X-Fi + Vista = EPIC FAIL! HELP! - Page 2

I had problems with my X-Fi + Vista as well. I actually paid for Creative to ship me the drivers for Vista. That seemed to work out the best. The online drivers didn't do squat for me.

i had nothing but problems with my xtreme music and vista.
now i have a xtreme music sitting here rotting. and yes i tried to use the daniel_K drivers and it did not help.

I have an xtrememusic working great on vista. Make sure you install the latest drivers and ALchemy from creative.com. Also be very careful when selecting your card on the support page. They have many different fatality cards, all of which have slightly different drivers.

Also try turning CMSS3D off, sometimes that does strange things to sound.

Not sure, I just know I had zero luck with online drivers (both Creative and other makers)

I know the rep was telling me that the CD contained something I could not get online.

My XtremeMusic works on Vista 64-bit with no problems. I first installed the basic driver package, then the interface package (the entertainment, gaming, audio creation), then the creative EAX alchemy.

Everything works the same as it did back on XP but the CMSS-3D sounds much different........

Maybe I should try this. I'm trying to go back to XP anyway. It just works better.

I ghad similar problems with my X-Fi ExtremeMusic and Vista in WoW... I upgraded to the new beta drivers for Vista x64 and installed ALchemy (both available form the creative site) and it solved those problems.
