4850/Zalman VF1000 installed - Page 3

:O Finally! a picture of that thing installed from a decent angle! I wasn't sure if it would fit with a PCI card directly below it! Thank gosh. Although, you probably just cost me $100 for two of those suckers . Nice Pic of inside your computer btw.

how many extra sinks did you need to get to cover all areas?
It came with enough sinks for the ram, but I hacked the front end of the stock cooler for pwm cooling.
I'm sure it would cool a 4870 fine, stock voltage of course.
The 4870 pwm's are in a different location, so they would neeed some attention.

The VF1000 is definitely smaller than it looks in images, surprised me.
There will be no issues fitting expansion cards, it's no bigger then a standard dual slot cooler.
I payed $42 shipped for mine.

question tho.. is it possible to kill the led on that fan?
I've never tried so I wouldn't know. It must be possible, just need to detach the fan, find the LED wiring and cut

Don't you have to buy some RHS88 thing or what ever it is for it? My 4850 gets around 226 F which sounds pretty dangerous

We speak celsius in these parts

Yeah that is way too how, 107°c is not good.
Crank up that fan speed.

You don't have to buy the rhs888, any sinks that fit will do.

Hello

just 1 question; How much is the gap betwean the cooler itself and the card. Im geting one of this vf1000 replaced for vf900 and have an custom PCB. Wich means that the Mosfet on my card is at the front...not on the back like the reference 4850
