Yea all the newegg reviews (for what their worth) don't seem to indicate any problems with the board really other than a few bios issues that I can only assume will/have been fixed with bios updates. All in all it's not much different from the older board, if your going to overclock you DO NOT want to install the dynamic energy saver. I haven't seen any other "independent" reviews for the ep35 version of this board.

Why not go for a P45 board instead of an older P35

BIOSTAR TForce TP45HP LGA 775 Intel P45
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138123

This is the higher overclocking motherboard ever made and it has crossfire that isn't crippled.

How much of a difference will it make to get one with P45?

More usb ports, possibly more overclocking potential. That question is a little vague...

I guess i'm just trying to work out if I will disadvantage myself greatly by getting a P35 rather than the new P45. Or will it not make that huge a difference.

I guess im partial to the p35 boards since they have been out on the market for longer and I've read countless reviews for them. Im sure there isn't anything inherently wrong with the p45 boards I just haven't found very many reviews for the boards or they don't fit or make sense for my budget. Im sure there are p35 boards out there that will beat a p45 board and vice versa. It all depends on what features you want in your pc: sli, crossfire, raid, firewire support, etc. but you also have to keep your budget in mind as well. If you see a board you like slap it into google and look for some reviews for it too!
