error code says it could be a hardrive or mobo error, does your south bridge or harddrive get hot?

I downloaded the 1.5Ubuntu extracted to the folder and it showed up as the 1.4. Then I get a bizzare error. I am so confused.

I really want the Linus points but this is kicking my tail.

Hey Allen. I checked with FoldingForum.org. They sent me to the specific error code. "FILE_IO_ERROR". Here's what it says.....
"An error that occurs when disk operations go bad. This is a fairly general error, having many sub-types. It has plummeted in frequency since the release of Gromacs Core 1.46. Now, this error usually happens when a hardware error occurs: something like "Write 0010, read back 0011". If you experience this error, make sure your hard drives are OK: run ScanDisk, CHKDSK, or fsck, make sure the IDE bus is in spec, make sure you're using good IDE cables, and make sure the drive isn't dying."

You need to run chkdsk. Go to start > Run > type cmd
In the command prompt type > chkdsk /f /r

That will run check disk and F= fix and R = recover (lost chains etc)

Basically get to a command prompt and type chkdsk /f /r

That will fix problems with the hard drive. Good luck man

EDIT: It might say that the volume is in use by another process. "run chkdsk on restart?" Check Y.
Then close down the F@H client and reboot. The chkdsk will run on the restart.

ah thank you jademiner. As soon as i read it, i did the chkdsk /f /r. its still checking it. +rep for the fast & quick response.

i've read from the original thread written by PhelanJKell, http://www.overclock.net/overclock-n...ntu-guide.html
and i'm only running one instance of vmware player + bal3wolf's updated linux. (only one instance because of team folding, vmware only uses up 2 cores)
but, back to the question, will i see a drop in times per % if i up the priority from normal to high? if so do you know how much time would decrease?

High priority could/should decrease the % times as it depends on how well it was folding under normal.
