BIOSTAR TForce Auxiliary Power for Graphics?

Thread Starter
I'm doing a new build right now. It's actually sitting right over >
But I've run into an issue.
I'm using this mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138122
and noticed that on the mobo, next to the PCIE16 slot, theres a spot for a molex connector.
I looked in the mobo manual and it says:

Auxiliary Power for Graphics
This connector is an auxiliary power connection for graphics cards. Exclusive power for the graphics card provides better graphics performance.

I'm using an 8600GT until I get a HD4850.
Would it benefit me to use this extra power?

It would not hurt, but probably won't help either.

Yeah that's because the standard circuitry for expansion cards can't handle the power requirements GFX cards need (hence the PCIe power plug). It just increases the maximum power draw from the motherboard.

Id say you should use it only if you have a PCIe card without a separate power connector, otherwise it won't even make the slightest difference. Hell, the difference it makes is negligible anyway, but it doesn't hurt.

Okay. Thanks for the help.
I'll probably just leave it alone then. I don't want to mess up my cable management. I figured it would probably be a negligible difference considering this is the first mobo that I've seen that has it so obviously it's not necessary.
